Kansas City

Will Croney

For over 5.5 years I’ve been at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City (IHOP-KC) Missions Base after returning from several years of service in Japan. I’ve been spending time in the 24 hour, 7 day per week Prayer Room in study, worship and prayer for the nations as well as fulfilling administrative hours in various areas.

Higher Grounds Café – I worked for nearly a year as Operations Staff (and another year as Part-Time Staff) in the café that serves as the social nerve center of the IHOP-KC Missions Base. This is a place intercessors, messengers, students/scholars, the curious, and the coffee connoisseurs can gather to discuss ideas and bond with each other outside of the Prayer Room.

Forerunner School of Ministry – I served for two years as an administrator at the Forerunner School of Ministry (FSM). FSM is a full time Bible school integrated with other ministries on the Base and seeks to impart the knowledge of God into many of the intercessory missionaries and others here in Kansas City as well as around the globe. Sign Shop Staff – I have served as an assistant in the Sign Shop that makes vinyl-cut signs for the many ministries around the Missions Base. One of the projects we worked on while I was there was the annual Onething Conference (that particular year we combined on the last day for a 12 hour solemn assembly with THECALL – www.thecall.com ) in which we hosted over 15,000 attendees. As you can guess many signs were necessary to help direct that many people.
Shuttle Driving – More recently I’ve been serving around the base by driving a shuttle. This enables both visitors and staff to get to and from various locations/meetings around the base.
Prayer Room – With each of the service duties above my main objective is to commune with the Lord in the service hours as well as maintain a minimum of 12 hours per week in the 24/7 Prayer Room This consists of times of devotion/meditating on scripture, and worship – contemplating the Lord and singing back to Him from His Word what he has said about Himself as well as singing spontaneous songs given by His Spirit. It also includes intercession: praying for individuals, families, groups, ministries, governments, cities, nations, etc.; and creativity: releasing ideas that come to me during times of meditation/prayer/worship through graphite onto paper.
