Treasure House
Treasure House is a restoration home in Mexico for girls who have been rescued from sexual exploitation. A place where trauma meets healing, and children discover their identity in Christ.
Treasure House is a home in Mexico for girls as young as 3, who have been sexually exploited. Karen David founded the home knowing one thing: someone had to care.
Each girl receives individualized care from a team that includes two certified teachers, a psychologist, and a government-appointed lawyer per child. Many of the girls arrive never having learned to read or write, because they have been locked away and kept from school. So we help them find healing and give them the tools to thrive in the world after the years that we're stolen from them. The older girls, who have been there the longest, are now emerging and stepping into roles of helping care for the younger ones.
Worship, prayer, therapeutic activities, and Spirit-led counsel are woven into daily life alongside education, medical care, and legal assistance. The goal is not just survival, it is identity. Each girl is being taught who she is in Christ.
Mexico currently does not meet minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking and offers little to no specialized care for victims. Treasure House is the only option of its kind in the area. The current 3,000 square foot home can house ten children - but the need far exceeds what they can hold. Karen is looking to expand, and other homes would cost between $200,000 and $400,000.
