From Corporate America to the Mission Field
For many years Melinda worked in medical sales in the United States — building relationships, serving clients, and navigating the fast pace of the professional world. But in October of 2023, the Lord gave her a vivid dream of becoming a missionary. From that moment, God began drawing her back to Himself and making her calling unmistakably clear.
Her path crossed with a FIRE International missionary serving in Mexico, and the trajectory of her life changed. Over the next few years, she served on multiple mission trips to Guadalajara, and what began as an interest became an assignment. In November of 2025, she quit her corporate job and committed fully to the call.
Purpose
Bringing Christ to the Streets and the Forgotten
Melinda Corning is now serving as a missionary to Mexico with a heart for street ministry and the forgotten, bringing the love of Jesus Christ to those who are broken, isolated, and searching.
She has a deep love for street ministry, meeting people where they are with prayer, compassion, and the hope of Jesus Christ. She carries a specific burden for the elderly, widows and widowers who face isolation, grief, and spiritual loneliness. Her heart is to bring friendship, encouragement, and community to those who feel forgotten, and to see them deeply rooted in Christ.
She believes God uses ordinary people with surrendered hearts, so every day, she is saying yes to what the Lord asks of her.
